    OCPW Practice Schedule

OCPW practice will begin on Tuesday, August 1st. All practices will be held at the Lincoln Center in Chapel Hill (unless otherwise notified).

For August 1-4 (Tues-Fri), practice times will be from 5:30-8:00 PM so that all 10 hours of required conditioning will be completed during this first week of practice. Players' hours will be logged to make sure that they all complete the mandatory 10 hours of conditioning. Remember, any players that do not complete the 10 hours during the first week will have to continue with conditioning before being allowed to participate in contact practices.

For August 7-11th and 14-18th (Mon-Fri), practice times will be 6:00-8:00 PM.

Starting the week of August 21st, all teams will practice from 5:45-7:45 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (except the Tiny-mites will only practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays).

When our game schedule comes out, we will post it. Games can start as early as Saturday, August 26th.

PLEASE HAVE YOUR PLAYERS BEGIN DRINKING A LOT OF WATER (if they haven't already started).

LET'S GO ORANGE COUNTY TAR HEELS!!!

    OCPW Pictures

Pictures for the Orange County Tar Heels will be on Sat, August 5th. We will meet in front of the Charlie "Choo Choo" Justice statue located by the Kenan Football Center at 9:30 am. Everyone can park in the Bell Tower parking lot. This is a link of a map what shows both the parking lot and the football center (it is attached to Kenan Stadium): http://jcdl2006.org/beta/wp-content/uploads/2006/06/jcdlmap.pdf.

The plan is to meet and have the kids go through the Hall of Honor and then go to take pictures in Kenan Stadium (will start with an entire OCPW team picture, followed by each team picture, and then having individual pictures that want one). After pictures are complete, we will go to watch the end of the Tar Heels practice with Coach Bunting speaking to the kids after they finish. They've asked us that we not ask for pictures and autographs (they ask that everyone come back on "Meet the Heels" event the next weekend).

Game jerseys will be passed out on Thursday or Friday. Game socks and helmet decals will hopefully get here by then as well. All players are asked to come fully dressed (including shoulder pads) but DO NOT need to bring their helmets.

Please have your forms filled out and bring with you on Sat. If your child will not be there Sat but you'd like a team picture or entire OCPW players picture, please fill out the form with payment and give it to us at one of the practices.

    OCPW Raffle

Everyone should have received their OCPW raffle packets by now. With everyone's participation, this should get us close to our budget goal. We're asking everyone to sell 20 tickets at $10 each. $10 for a chance to win some great raffle items while making a tax-deductible donation to OCPW, it's a win-win situation.

The raffle drawings will be held on August 20th at our Kickoff Dinner.

    OCPW Kickoff Dinner

The first annual OCPW Kickoff Dinner is set for August 20th from 4-6 PM at Chapel Hill Country Club. You should be receiving more detailed information about the dinner as well as reservation instructions.

Remember, the $13/adult and $10/child (under 12) includes location rental, food, drinks, and service (including gratuity). It is a buffet with a variety of food items. There will be a cash bar available.

As well as not having to worrying about organizing sign-ups of who brings what, this will allow everyone to meet and talk with the coaches and other kids and their families. We will hold the drawing for the raffle at the dinner.

Please send your reservations (bottom of invitation) and payment in as soon as possible. You are welcome to attend without sending in your reservations but the costs for the dinner will increase to $15/adult and $12/child at the door.

If you have any questions, please contact Kimberly Nevin at 918-3893 or email her at Knevin@nc.rr.com.

This is not a fundraiser for OCPW, it is a meet and greet function only. Thanks for your participation.
