The game time for the OCPW TM's bowl game against Garner Blue has been moved up and CHANGED TO 9:30 AM. Please make note of the time change.

Also, please make sure that you bring your own seating.

EQUIPMENT & UNIFORMS TURN-IN

The season is quickly winding down so mark your calendars for returning your uniforms and equipment for Nov 4th and Nov 6th from 5:30-7:00pm. It will be @ 2124 Meares Road (CH 27514)--same place where you picked up everything.

Cheerleaders, if you have other specific instructions for uniform turn in, follow those.

These are the items that must be turned in for football:
Helmet
Chinstrap
Game jersey
Game pants
Practice jersey
Practice pants
Shoulder pads
Pant pads (7)

Please make sure that all the uniforms have been cleaned. Please clean the helmet and shoulder pads with a damp cloth and cleaning spray (something that will kill germs). You can put the pant pads and chin strap into the washer (MAKE SURE THAT THE SNAPS ON THE CHINSTRAP ARE EITHER SECURELY BACK ON OR PLACE THE CLEAN SNAPS BACK ONTO THE HELMET) and let air dry.

Please remove mouthguards and throw away. Keep your spirit packs and game socks.

Cheer skirt
Cheer bloomers
Pom poms

TM GAME CANCELED

THE TM GAME IN SANFORD FOR OCT 25TH IS CANCELED DUE TO BAD FIELD CONDITIONS (raining all evening in Sanford plus they had a HS football game in the rain). So, sleep in and have a relaxing weekend.

If you want, please come can catch the JPW game @ Githens Middle at 12:30pm (winning will put them into the playoffs next week to determine the division champs, who will go onto regional playoffs) or you can go watch the MM game @ NR Gray at 2pm (for now the game is on). The JPW is on rain or shine.

Don't forget that you need to RSVP if your family plans to attend

the End of Season Celebration by Tues, Oct 28th.

CONCESSION VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Since we were not planning on being at AL Stanback, we will need some volunteers to help with concessions at the OCT 18th games.

LOCATION CHANGE FOR ALL OCTOBER 18TH

We are now going to be playing all OCPW games at AL Stanback Middle School instead of Cedar Ridge High School. The game times will remain the same but please note the change in location.

The address is 3700 NC Highway 86 S, Hillsborough, NC 27278. The directions are I-40W toward Greensboro. Take the New Hope Church Rd, exit #263, and turn right off the ramp. At the light (Hwy 86 and New Hope Church Rd), turn left. Go about 1/4-1/2 (?) mi and the school is on the right. The parking lot will be to the right. Follow the sidewalk to the field.

Everyone will be sitting on the same side. No one is allowed on the track except coaches, players, and cheerleaders. Please remember that head coaches should have their coach's book (will check picture IDs only so have them pulled out) and all coaches MUST have a badge to be allowed on the field (NO BADGE, NO FIELD ACCESS, NO EXCEPTIONS).

There are porta johns. There will be some concessions so NO OUTSIDE COOLERS except the one for the team. Please dress warmly and bring some towels and blankets (bleachers may be wet and your players will probably be dirty). Sorry for the late notice but better than having to cancel the games. WE WILL BE PLAYING--NO CANCELLATIONS (just location change).

YOUTH NIGHT AT CARRBORO HIGH

The Carrboro High School football team is inviting OCPW (as well as CHCCS middle schools teams) to their last home game against Providence Day School on Friday night (10/17) at CHS. Kickoff is at 7:00PM. Any player in his jersey or cheerleader in her uniform will be admitted free. If you are interested in participating, YOU MUST CONTACT US BY TUESDAY, OCT 12th, so that we can give you specific instructions.

OCPW BOARD NOMINATIONS

OCPW is now accepting nominations for the Board and are due by Sat, Oct 18th. There are 2 officer positions (2-yr commitment) and all at-large positions (1-yr commitment). You may also send in a small submission, if you'd like. The officer positions open are Vice-President (currently Greg Strowd) and Secretary (currently Eileen Stough). Interested persons do not have to have a child participating in OCPW. However, all nominees must be committed in working to improve OCPW.

The Board meets @ 6:30 pm on the Friday after the 3rd Tuesday of every month (unless changed) throughout the year. The new Board will begin meeting in Nov (Nov 21st). Board members are expected to help during the off season as well as during the football season. Attendance to meetings is required. Ideally, we'd like one of the at-large positions to be the Public Relations person for OCPW and another to be in charge of fundraising.

Voting will take place at the Oct 23rd practice (ballots will be sent out via email on Sun, Oct 19th). There will be a "vote box" at practice.
